The Metropolitan Fishing Tournament
This is by far the best tournament there is. It is 69 years old, lasts 6 months,
has 500 regular captains/guides, 70+ sponsors, and is open to tourists and residents. There are 37 species of fish, and on top of all that ....It's Free!!!!!
Make sure if you are coming down to fish that your guide is familiar with the Met.

The Florida Sportsman Magazine
This is the single most important reference guide that I had
when I moved here to So. Florida. I read this magazine like it is
the Bible of fishing, and in most cases it is. Even if you live in
the north country, you should have a subscription to this mag. just
for the year round info. it offers on the place you want to be fishing.
People ask, "How can I be a better angler next time I
come down?" and the answer is to get more knowledge about the
location, habits and the food sources of the species that you're
fishing for. The years roll by and all of a sudden you have a
dictionary of fishing in So. Florida. If you're planning a trip in
November for big bones off Key Biscayne, just pull out the November
issues and look under Action Spotter. All the info. is there.
Yeah ... I know ... You think I get a free subscription or a free ad,
or something. Well, I don't. It's just the truth. Check

This is one of the few magazines I will advertise in due to it's superior content. The editors have done a masterful job over the ten years I have been collecting and reading this publication with their great how-to's, stories and of course, the lack of overwhelming advertisements like so many of the other mag's out there.
